I love spring! Love love love everything about it! The sounds of birds chirping outside… the sun peeking out from wherever he was hiding all winter… little green buds shooting out of the barren ground… warmth… the aliveness in the air… crocuses slowly showing their faces… and best thing is – it means winter is over and summer is on her way! 😀 Everything is just happier when it’s warm 😀 (okay, so that’s just my opinion but it rings true in my life) Most of all, spring symbolizes hope to me. The sun is coming out and there is a warmth in the air… so maybe winter will leave and there is hope for new growth. New opportunities and possibilities open up. Things are coming alive – physically, and also in me.
And just like Dad is making plans and ordering 125 baby chicks and eagerly waiting for all his grapes and blackberries and raspberries to be delivered to our country porch… well, I’m excited too! About all kinds of different opportunities right in front of me and ways to prepare and learn and things I could pursue and directions my future could take! 😀 Maybe someday I will share specifics. 😀 (it doesn’t involve grapes or chickens though ;))
[I just kinda hope God’s not calling me to be a missionary in the coldest part of Alaska or Siberia or some such frigid climate…]
“Sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things; his right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him. The Lord has made his salvation known and revealed his righteousness to the nations. He has remembered his love and his faithfulness to the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God. Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music; make music to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and the sound of singing, with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn — shout for joy before the Lord, the King. Let the sea resound, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it. Let the rivers clap their hands, let the mountains sing together for joy; let them sing before the Lord, for he comes to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples with equity.” (Psalm 98 – emphasis added by me)

“For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.” (Psalm 100:5)
I just feel like shouting and dancing and singing and praising!! And I’ve been doing all of these things and more 😉 Kinda like a little kid when Christmas or his birthday finally comes – that’s me 😀 It seems like emotional “winters” in my life usually coincide with the actual physical season of winter… but it makes the joy and freedom of spring so much sweeter. 😀
