Hi, I’m Kristin and I like food.

My husband is greatly amused at times when I go on & on about cooking and this or that food and what I’m hungry for and so on.  Well hey, you have to eat food every day, so might as well make it good, right?

[Little secret: if you want to know what I'm hungry for on any given day, just come for supper and it won't be too hard to figure out. Only exceptions being if I needed to use something in the fridge/garden up. Please tell me there are other cooks out there that cook based off of their food cravings. Anyone?]

Crispy Buffalo Chicken

Mmmm!! Delicious if you like buffalo sauce flavored things. We really liked this. Definitely a keeper!

Better Than Takeout Chicken Fried Rice

We never get takeout chicken fried rice, so I don’t know how it compares to the real thing. I thought it was pretty good overall — maybe could’ve used a little more seasoning with the chicken.

Easy Peach Crisp

I tried this on our annual canoe trip in my new dutch oven, using blueberry pie filling instead of peaches. It probably would’ve been delicious if we hadn’t left it in the fire too long and burnt it. :p

Zucchini & Summer Squash Fritters

I found this recipe out of desperation to find a new way to make squash. (Stir fry was getting a little boring) We really really liked these. Yummy! I didn’t have any zucchini at the time, so I don’t know how the flavor would differ with it added.

Hidden Valley Ranch Black Bean & Veggie Casserole

Another last minute lunch while trying to use up squash & zucchini. Very flavorful, and you hardly knew it didn’t have meat. The only thing I didn’t like was that it was pretty watery, but that could be because I made my own buttermilk.

Herb Roasted Chicken

A friend brought this for supper back when I had mono in June/July. Super good!!! We  personally like it without the sweet potatoes.
